The Summer CSA season runs from: June 5th – August 21st (12 weeks)
Membership applications are due May 21st, 2012
Select a pick up location in either Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill, Greenpoint, Williamsburg, or East Williamsburg
To sign up for the 2012 Summer CSA Season:
1) Submit a 2012 Summer Member Form (PDF version) electronically or via mail
2) Complete payment online or by check

Enjoy a variety of 4 – 6 different seasonal vegetables a week, including spinach, kale, scallions, lettuce, bok choy, herbs, squash, and corn. Distributions are weekly for half and full shares. Bring on the vitamins!

Strawberries, Blueberries, Plums, Nectarines, and everything else great about summer fruit! Fruit shares are weekly and begin the third week of the CSA season due to the seasonality of fruit grown in the NorthEast.

This artisanal cheese share includes five different types of goat and cow cheese for an every other week distribution. Each variety has won awards from the American Cheese Society, World Jersey Cheese, and North American Jersey Cheese Competitions. Their Mettowee goat cheese was listed as a Top 300 Cheese by Murray’s Cheese Shop.

This share is comprised of Artisan Wine Breads, Classic New York Breads, and Classic European Breads. In other words, that means Sour Dough, Challah, Swiss Health, Whole Wheat, Beer Bread, etc. This bread share goes great with our cheese and fruit share. Half shares are every other week and full shares are every week.

Members will have a choice between Creamline or Low Fat at CSA pick up. Creamline is pasteurized but not homogenized, so the cream floats to the top. The cream can be spooned off for your coffee or shaken for the full flavor and benefits of whole milk. It has been called the “Dom Perignon” of dairy according to the New York Times. Their lowfat milk is 1% with a full-bodied flavor, some say as rich as whole milk. This milk will stay fresh for 14 days from CSA pick up.

We’ve curated a share that shows off the artisanal Brooklyn food scene and it doesn’t get more local than this! This season’s participating purveyors are Brooklyn Soda Works (soda), Ovenly (snacks), Mike’s Hot Honey (honey), Rick’s Picks (pickles), KBBK (kombucha), Liddabit Sweets (candy), and SlantShack (beef jerky). Each week will feature a different purveyor.

Products range in variety from Popcorn and Spelt Berries to Cornmeal Flour and Polenta to Pinto Beans and Sweet Soybeans. Half and Full shares are monthly.

Sample Share: Omega 3 – Half a dozen eggs every week
A dozen of these golden yellow yolks are delivered every other week for half shares and once a week for full and omega 3 shares. Omega-3 eggs are eggs that are produced by hens fed a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids and have three to six times the amount of omega-3 fatty acids than regular eggs.

Please note that there are no refunds for missed shares and as a member of a CSA, you share both the bounties and risks of the farmer. CSA shares will vary from week to week depending on seasonality and weather, and there is no guarantee on the exact amount of contents of the share.
