Good magazine is giving a $500 grant to a food related community event and Local Roots NYC is in the running.  We plan on hosting a dinner with a seasonal meal, sourced from our CSA, and curated and cooked by youth from food desert communities.  Each meal will be inspired by the young chefs’ own food culture and will show the versatility of our CSA ingredients!  If we win, we plan on using the money to help fund our youth education program we have in the works.  This program will focus on exposing youth in food desert communities to the full spectrum of local agriculture: farm to plate.
