From Soil to City

Workplace CSA

A workplace CSA conveniently connects your co-workers with high quality, farm fresh foods right at the office. Here’s how it works:

Employees place orders before the season begins at LocalRoots.NYC

At the start of the season, employees will go to one place in the office – generally a main break room or kitchen area – to pick up their freshly harvested food. The pick up pick up window is 1 hour on a day that works for both parties in the afternoon.

A Local Roots NYC site leader will check members in and guide them through the pick up process, keep the bins bountiful and set up looking beautiful, offer recipe ideas, and clean up at the end of the pick up.

You’ll be providing a fun wellness program to employees while building community at work with minimal work on your end. Employees love connecting with coworkers over food and we’ve been told that the fresh produce displayed in their office is their daily perk.

According to a fascinating article in British Journal of Health Psychology, the more fruits and veggies people consumed over a 13 day period, the happier, more engaged, and more creative they tended to be. This could be a result of a few things. Fruits and veggies contain vital nutrients that produce dopamine, which plays a key role in the experience of curiosity, motivation, and engagement. Fresh produce also provides antioxidants that minimize bodily inflammation, improve memory, and one’s enhance mood.

Cultivate a work culture around swapping recipes, sharing dish ideas, and geeking out about farms, while also providing a convenient way for your co-workers to eat healthier so they can be more productive and feel happier.
