Come meet the people that grow your vegetables in the Local Roots CSA! We’re honored to have Zaid from Norwich Meadows Farm in NY, Cheryl of Rogowski Farm in NY, and George of Taproot Farm, PA make their way into NYC to share more about their farm with you.
It’ll also be a great time to meet fellow members. This event is open to non-CSA members as well so feel free to join if you’re just interested in local agriculture!
We’ve brought in Brooklyn Mompost to teach kids how to build a composting bin during the farmer Q+A session. Feel free to bring the young ones!!
Farm intros and Q+A will be followed by a reception of light beverages and snacks. During the reception, we will also have a fun “Farmer Speed Dating” session with trivia questions written on cards for participants to ask each farmer. Please email FUN@LocalRootsNYC.org with subject title “FARMER SPEED DATE” with questions you’d like to ask the farmer; questions can be about their farm, what the last movie they saw was, to what their favorite food is right now.
When: October 18th from 12 – 3pm
Where: Local Roots NYC hub at Fulton Stall Market: 207A Front Street – corner of Front + Beekman
