Locations

The Local Roots CSA has homes in five different locations, in addition to some corporate offices.  We’d like to thank all of our host locations for their kindness and for supporting the local food movement!

61 Local
61 Bergen Street : Boerum Hill, Brooklyn
Tuesdays from 5:00pm – 8:00pm

61 Local is a public house in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn celebrating locally crafted food and the people who make it.  They feature beer from Barrier (Long Island), Captain Lawrence (Westchester), Kelso (Brooklyn), Sixpoint (Brooklyn), and Victory (Pennsylvania ).  Also on tap is BKKB Kambucha and Brooklyn Soda Works.  Other neighborhood purveyors include SCRATChbread and Murray’s Cheese.

Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain
513 Henry St : Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
Tuesdays from 5pm – 8pm

For years, the Vermont Pharmacy was a source of fascination and mystery to many residents of Carroll Gardens: boarded-up and neglected, it appeared as both a relic of a distant, more eccentric past and a monument to contemporary urban neglect.  Restored with the help from Discovery Channel’s Construction Intervention, The Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain took residency in this old phramacy in 2010.  Still retaining a look of nostalgia, there are McClure’s products lining the shelves, baskets of local, organic, and seasonal apples, a display case of natural, handmade soaps, and egg creams made behind the counter.

Harefield Road
769 Metropolitan Ave : East Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Tuesdays from 5pm – 8pm

Proprietor Sean O’Rourke—who also co-runs Pencil Factory in Greenpoint, stakes this spinoff bar’s reputation on the microbrews and the craft ales. That means you’ll be glugging Smuttynose IPA, Blue Point Oatmeal Stout, or Sixpoint Righteous Rye on the dark, glossy wood seating or even nicer, the smoke-filled patio.

The Diamond

43 Franklin St : Greenpoint, Brooklyn
Wednesdays from 5:30pm – 8pm

Craft beer, free shuffleboard, and a backyard with a stationary ski lift makes The Diamond perfect for CSA game nights.  Oh yeah, they also host ski trips.  We think they’re pretty cool, also.

D.B.A
113 N. 7th Street: Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Thursdays from 5pm – 8pm

The Williamsburg version of its East Village outpost is a beer-geek mecca with sixteen taps that might pull Belgian Kira White, O’Hara’s Celtic Stout, or a Sixpoint from around the corner, as well as a list of spirits that goes far beyond Jameson, such as twelve-year-aged Red Breast Irish whiskey; and three rotating hand-drawn, cask-conditioned ales.  After picking up your CSA share, be sure to enjoy a beer in their outdoor back patio.
